Connie Arnold, PhD, a medical sociologist and associate professor in the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center at the LSU Health Sciences Center, will share her research on health literacy and its importance to patients from noon – 1 p.m.,
Tuesday, April 28, in the Jo Ellen Ford Auditorium of the Institute on Aging. Arnold has 20 years experience researching health literacy and has co-authored more than 40 articles on health literacy, health communication and behavior and preventive medicine.

Our next Partnership for Health Literacy in Arkansas (PHLA) meeting will be Friday, April 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Arkansas Department of Health Lab Training Room (#2508) in the Markham St. offices. Dr. Jennifer Dillaha, Arkansas Department of Health Medical Director for Immunizations and Medical Advisor for Health Communications and Health Literacy will give an overview of strategies and tools for addressing health literacy in Arkansas.
