The program will discuss health literacy and pharmacotherapy literacy and give much-needed attention to patient literacy needs as they relate to medication use.
We will also discuss needed improvements in patient care and the health system to improve pharmacotherapy literacy and medication use.
- Define and describe health literacy and pharmacotherapy literacy
- Describe the epidemiology of inadequate functional health literacy
- Recognize the consequences of inadequate functional health literacy in medication use
- Describe four ways health care providers can improve pharmacotherapy literacy
This program has been approved for one continuing education credit hour for pharmacists through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy.
