Arkansas’s Big Health Problems and How We Plan to Solve Them

Dear Steering Committee Member,

A draft of the Arkansas Department of Health’s new report on Arkansas’s Big Health Problems and How We Plan to Solve Them is now available for public comment. So I wanted to share it with you, especially since it has a chapter on health literacy. We worked hard to use plain language and other principles of health literacy in writing it. And I think we did a pretty good job, given our current skill level. I’m convinced, however, that we can do even better in the future.

I’d like to invite you to read it and send the Health Department your comments. You can get a copy of the report by clicking on the banner for the report on the main page of the Arkansas Department of Health’s website (www.healthy.arkansas.gov) and following the link to read or download a PDF of the draft report.
Please feel free to share it with anyone you feel may be interested.

Written comments can be submitted by sending an email to [email protected] or by mailing a letter to the following address:

The comments on the draft are needed by Friday, June 21, 2013. Of course, we will be happy to take comments and answer questions any time after the final report is published.

Your assistance in reviewing this report and sharing this information would be very much appreciated.
