Purpose: To raise awareness about the problems, impact, and potential strategies to improve health literacy among the research community in Arkansas and to promote research that addresses issues of health literacy measures, the relationship of health literacy to health outcomes and quality indicators, and training of health professionals in health literacy.
Goal: To develop and promote a health literacy research agenda in Arkansas.
- Develop interdisciplinary and inter-professional health literacy collaborations through partnerships and resource sharing.
- Contribute to health literacy theoretical research.
- Align the Arkansas health literacy research agenda with national and international health literacy research agenda.
- Disseminate current international, national, and local health literacy research findings to Arkansas stakeholders.
